(More customer reviews)I bought this mat from another location, and I was excited when I received it. Natural Fitness is a great company with a message that I really identify with. The mat was a great color and the thickness was wonderful, especially because of how bony I am around the hips and knees.

However, I was EXTREMELY disappointed in it when it was put into practice. I brought it to my yoga class, and was horrified when my (perfectly manicured, thank you very much) toe punctured the mat! On top of that, it left lasting indentations from where I shifted my weight or changed position. The mat was also too light for the thickness it has -- thus, when changing position, the mat changes with you. Also, the material is very sticky and when performing with the mat in a class, it is best done in pants so your legs do not stick.

I immediately took it back to the store for a refund. I purchased the Divine yoga mat from Natural Fitness instead, and have no complaints. This mat may be fine for someone doing ab work... On a carpet... In their own home. That's about it.

Unlike typical foam exercise mats, this Powerhouse Mat is made from environmentally-friendly foam material which does not contain PVC, halogen, or phthalates, making it safer for both the user and the environment. The mat measures 23 by 72 inches and 3/8-inches thick.

Offsetting the eco-footprint of their employees and offices.
Offering the most environmentally-friendly products available.
Use a "green" web host company that utilizes solar panels to power its data center and office.
Partnering with like-minded companies to raise public awareness about the environmental problems created through use of fossil fuels and other non-sustainable practices.
Using recycled content paper in business cards, letterhead, envelopes, labels, checks, and printer/copier paper. All of the product packaging and inserts that Natural Fitness uses are made with recycled paper.
Using recycled packaging materials and boxes in the company's warehouse. They also pack with old newspapers and other recyclable paper products.
Helped create the Chicago Biodiesel Co-op, which educated, promotes, and produces locally-derived biofuels.
Greening the company's comprehensive recycling program and using natural light when possible.
Spearheaded an ambitious recycling program for the 500,000 square foot office building Natural Fitness occupies, along with 60 companies.
